Western Australia Tour 2011

May to Sept 2011 sees TRADITION traveling and exploring the phenominal fishing and surfing of Western Australia.

May - Cairns to Gove , Gove to Darwin, Darwin to Broome via the Kimberleys.

June, July and early August - Broome, Dampier ,Port Hedland and Exmouth provide the jumpoff point for 7 and 10 day explorations of the area.

Early August to Sept - Broome to Darwin via the Kimberleys, Darwin to Gove, and Gove to Cairns

Broome - close to Broome are good numbers of sails, whilst further out at the Rowely Shoals are large numbers of sails, wahoo and yellowfin tunas.

Rowley Shoals is located about 160 miles west of Broome is made up of a 3 atoll coral reef system. Boasting incredible light and heavy tackle marlin and sportfishing. Evenings are spent inside the lagoon in a nice calm anchorage. Trips to Rowley Shoals are 5-10 day liveaboard charters.

Just like on the Great Barrier Reef, this region offers incredible snorkelling at Clerke and Imperiuse Reefs. Scott Reef is another rarely fished large are of reef. Located nearly 240 nm north of Broome, a trip out here would be best served with a 7- 10 day expedition.

Exmouth offers easy access to the Ningaloo Reef system, with the shelf just 2 miles offshore of this. Due to the closeness to Exmouth Marina we can also do day trips. Liveaboard trips up to 10 days are available. This area offers big marlin - both blues and blacks , stripes, sails and one of the best swordfisheries in Australia.

The North West region offers a great combination of surf and fishing exploration with plenty of surf in the Montebellos and Exmouth region.
